Home Learning

As part of our Home Learning offer at Lauriston, we share a weekly learning update via Google Classroom which summarises the learning going on that week across the core subjects and in Science or CC. This is intended to give parents & carers an understanding of what is being taught in school in order to further support pupils at home. The weekly learning summary also contains links and suggestions for additional home learning activities linked to the week's learning that parents & carers can work on at home with pupils, should they wish to. These links may be to resources such as Oak Academy or BBC Bitesize, or suggestions for particular activities via our subscription to the online learning platform Doodle. Practice spellings linked to the spelling patterns being taught in school are also sent home weekly, in order for pupils to practice ahead of their weekly spelling test in school.

We are subscribed to a variety of online learning platforms that can support home learning. All of our pupils also have log ins for Times Tables Rockstars, which we encourage them to use at home in order to secure their fluency with number facts and times tables. Our pupils also have log ins for LgfL (London Grid for Learning), through which they can access a variety of online learning resources by logging in to 'My USO'. This way, pupils can access resources such as Purple Mash from home. Please see below for quick links to the available online home learning platforms, and guidance documents for support with logging in.
