Evening It was a lovely end to the day over here at our camp in Kent. After enjoying more leaf wapping (print making using leaves and natural materials) and time in the woods, we gathered around the campfire for dinner. For each meal we have one clan responsible for serving! We also all learnt the routine for washing up - we are all responsible for our own plate and cutlery. We sheltered from an evening shower under the canopy before a little bit of free time and settling in to our tents. We are looking forward to what tomorrow holds!
17:30 We are having a brilliant first day! After spending some free time relaxing and most importantly, enjoying the tyre swing (!) we split up into our clan groups for some fun! Each clan has come up with their name, clan call, and clan action. We then took part in different activities: two clans did some leaf wapping and food preparation back at camp, while the other two headed to the woods! Then it was time to swap over and do the same. We’ve had a very full first day here and are now looking forward to our campfire circle and dinner!
14:18 We are loving settling in to our tents and getting to know the camp site! After enjoying our packed lunch we had our campsite tour to get to know all the areas of the site. Then it was time to get organised and settled into our tents. Year 6 Oak have done a great job of organising their tents neatly and getting cosy. There were lots of smiles and laughter from the tents! Now we are about to have some free time enjoying the site, before we start some activities for the afternoon.
12:31 Oak class have arrived safely! After a smooth coach journey during which we enjoyed taking in the new views, we arrived safely at our campsite in Kent. We all immediately got changed into wellies and waterproofs for a rather exciting and muddy walk to our camp along a bridle path! Now it’s time for lunch before we have a tour of our new home for the next 4 days!
10:40 And we’re off! Oak class are all very excited to start their adventure on our camping residential! We’ll be updating the website regularly to share how they’re getting on. Stay tuned!
